"Thanks for the training I received on the hot stone massage course 12/1/11. I liked the friendly informative way you delivered the course which kept the day interesting. The small classes and relaxed atmosphere was great & I would personally consider attending another course in the future."

"Hello Kim, Just wanted to let you know what a great time I had on the fabulous Makeup Course I attended last week (23/24th). I gained a lot more knowledge and made some great new friends so a big thank you!"

"Having just finished my level 2 in Beauty Therapy at the Cottage Training centre I would just like to say how much I enjoyed the course and would like to pass on my thanks to Kim. I can’t believe it was only a year ago I decided I wanted a career change and after speaking to Kim I found her so inspiring this encouraged me to make the initial step and enrol.

Whilst doing my course I continued to work in my full time job, however due to additional work pressures this was very challenging at times trying to manage both, however due to Kim’s flexibility and continual encouragement this gave me the motivation to carry on with the course through the hard times and I am very thankful for this. Kim is an excellent teacher, she is approachable, adaptable, and professional and also has a great style of teaching which makes it enjoyable whilst still learning.

I found the course a very memorable experience and can't wait to come back for further courses at the Cottage Training Centre in the future. I am now looking forward to an exiting new year using my new qualification. Thank you. "

" I just wanted to thank you for all your help with the course. I was very impressed with your teaching style, in that you always managed to apply business logic and knowledge to the beauty skills, which meant the course was much more useful and practical. You've clearly created a very successful business in an industry which you are interested in, which is what I aspire to. I will certainly keep you up-to-date with my progress and hopefully in a few years I'll be inviting you to the opening of my very own salon. "

"I would just like to thank Kim so much for giving me the confidence to change my career to something that I want to do rather than something I have to do. I am 45 years old and a mother of a 21 year old. I did a google search and found the Cottage Training Centre, then plucked up the courage to call and spoke to Kim the owner. She suggested that I went to have an informal chat and when I met her felt really comfortable.

Kim ran through everything and I signed up for the level 2 beauty specialist diploma which I wanted to complete over a timescale that suited me. I needed to do whilst still working and earning. Kim explained things so well to someone who hasn’t done any education or exams in over 20 years.

I so enjoyed the training at the cottage that I am always looking on the web-site to see the new workshops as there is always more to learn. A great bonus was the many new friendships I made through training at the cottage.

I now have a part-time job in a salon which I love. Thank you Kim, I couldn’t have done it without you."

"I previously completed a course in reflexology at college, but was unsatisfied with the level of tutoring, however, I wished to expand my knowledge and so began my extensive research into training schools. I searched the internet, obtained training school prospectus' and after narrowing my options, followed up with a telephone call to each training faciltiy. The conversations and responses left me feeling quite deflated, until I spoke with Kim from the Cottage Training Centre in Southampton. Kim gave me a comprehensive explanation of the courses I was interested in, advised me what would be expected and showed an excellent knowledge of VTCT courses, which is exactly what I was looking for."

"I attended my first course in July 2008, a 3-day Swedish massage course, followed by a 2-day course in Facial Massage and Skincare in September 2008. The course material, which is included in the cost of the course, is comprehensive and well presented, covering both the treatment and relevant anatomy and physiology. On the day, the course content was well balanced and informative, and included theoretical and practical elements to ensure that the students gained the most from it. The tutor groups are small and friendly, enabling Kim to effectively identify a student's level of learning and spend more time with them on any aspect they may be finding a little difficult."

"The courses are intensive, and home study is required, but Kim is an e-mail or a phone call away should you have questions. Kim also bases a segment of the courses detailing marketing, health and safety and client care, which provides students with an all-round knowledge. The 'Prescents' product range is lovely and is now my own salon range. The result of such a positive experience is that I feel confident to deliver a high quality treatment to my clients and looking forward to further 200 mile round trips to complete additional courses at The Cottage Training Centre."

" I started off my career by qualifying as a Chartered Physiotherapist in 1964. Those were the days when it was a female dominated profession; indeed there was only one school in England that took male students. I was not to be put off. After qualification I spent many years in sports physiotherapy until I went into the Royal Air Force as a Navigator for ten years and then into secondary school teaching in 1990. I retired in 1999. After that I was looking for something to do to keep my brain active. This is when a friend suggested I did Complementary Therapies. I did a Diploma in Indian Head Massage and then I spotted an advertisement in The International Therapist for The Cottage Training Centre and Kim Sexton."

"I soon discovered that the difference between other training schools and The Cottage was the excellent teaching and guidance of Kim Sexton. Her enthusiasm and extensive knowledge and experience convinced me that this was the place to broaden my studies. The small class sizes (no more than 6 students) were also an added recommendation. I have completed Thermal Auricular Therapy and Swedish Body Massage, and I am now moving on to Manicure and Pedicure, Hot Stone Massage and Sports and Remedial Massage. The need for male grooming in Bournemouth seems to have grown and I am going to tap into that market. It looks like I have done a complete circle in 40 years!!"

"So if anyone is reading this and wondering if you should enrol at The Cottage Training Centre, hesitate no longer, get in touch. Pop in and chat with Kim you too will be infected with her enthusiasm."

"I cannot thank you enough for such a professional and high standard of training. I was really impressed by the fact that we were tutored in such small groups as this meant that each person received a lot of individual tuition. This is something that has been missing from courses I have been on in larger colleges. From the first day that I arrived to do my VTCT in Swedish Body Massage, I felt that I was being trained in a professional atmosphere to a standard that meant that I felt confident in my skills as a professional therapist."

"The way in which you offer courses split over several weeks has fitted in well with my work as a self-employed therapist, allowing me to expand my skills in a short space of time to a recognised industry standard. I have really enjoyed studying for the VTCT in Aromatherapy with you and felt there was a lot of support from you through both the practical and theoretical parts of the course. As a tutor I felt that you delivered the lessons in an informative and easy to understand way and you made everyone in the group feel confident about asking questions."

"Training with you has helped me move my career as a therapist further forward and I will not hestiate in studying with The Cottage Training Centre again in the future. It has been worth every penny."

"I have taken many courses at The Cottage Training Centre. I found that these short, intensive courses cover the subject matter very thoroughly. Kim's expertise in her field is extensive and this comes through with her teaching. An excellent training centre with fantastic back-up support."
