" I started off my career by qualifying as a Chartered
Physiotherapist in 1964. Those were the days when it was a
female dominated profession; indeed there was only one school in
England that took male students. I was not to be put off. After
qualification I spent many years in sports physiotherapy until I
went into the Royal Air Force as a Navigator for ten years and
then into secondary school teaching in 1990. I retired in 1999.
After that I was looking for something to do to keep my brain
active. This is when a friend suggested I did Complementary
Therapies. I did a Diploma in Indian Head Massage and then I
spotted an advertisement in The International Therapist for The
Cottage Training Centre and Kim Sexton."
"I soon discovered that the difference between other training
schools and The Cottage was the excellent teaching and guidance
of Kim Sexton. Her enthusiasm and extensive knowledge and
experience convinced me that this was the place to broaden my
studies. The small class sizes (no more than 6 students) were
also an added recommendation. I have completed Thermal Auricular
Therapy and Swedish Body Massage, and I am now moving on to
Manicure and Pedicure, Hot Stone Massage and Sports and Remedial
Massage. The need for male grooming in Bournemouth seems to have
grown and I am going to tap into that market. It looks like I
have done a complete circle in 40 years!!"
"So if anyone is reading this and wondering if you should enrol
at The Cottage Training Centre, hesitate no longer, get in
touch. Pop in and chat with Kim you too will be infected with
her enthusiasm."
John C.Wingfield "I cannot thank you enough for such a professional and high standard of training. I was really impressed by the fact that we were tutored in such small groups as this meant that each person received a lot of individual tuition. This is something that has been missing from courses I have been on in larger colleges. From the first day that I arrived to do my VTCT in Swedish Body Massage, I felt that I was being trained in a professional atmosphere to a standard that meant that I felt confident in my skills as a professional therapist."
"The way in which you offer courses split over several weeks has fitted in well with my work as a self-employed therapist, allowing me to expand my skills in a short space of time to a recognised industry standard. I have really enjoyed studying for the VTCT in Aromatherapy with you and felt there was a lot of support from you through both the practical and theoretical parts of the course. As a tutor I felt that you delivered the lessons in an informative and easy to understand way and you made everyone in the group feel confident about asking questions."
"Training with you has helped me move my career as a therapist further forward and I will not hestiate in studying with The Cottage Training Centre again in the future. It has been worth every penny."
Sophie Halligan - Holistic and Beauty Therapist :-
"I have taken many courses at The Cottage Training Centre. I
found that these short, intensive courses cover the subject
matter very thoroughly. Kim's expertise in her field is
extensive and this comes through with her teaching. An excellent
training centre with fantastic back-up support."
