The latest addition to our massage therapy courses. Using smooth Bamboo sticks you will learn to apply deep rhythmic strokes to the muscles. The techniques used are especially beneficial to the deeper muscle groups and by combining this therapy with warm oil the client experiences a deep feeling of relaxation. For the therapist it is a beautiful massage to give without putting stress on the hands or wrists. This is a wonderful addition to any therapy menu and as it can be a deep massage very suitable for clients who are involved in sports.

This new treatment adds length, colour, curl and volume to your clients’ natural lashes.
It is 100% waterproof making it perfect for holidays, special occasions or just to save time if you have a busy lifestyle.
It lasts from 2-6 weeks and natural wear and tear, loss of natural lashes will require the client to return for touch ups.
Lash extensions fall out, tints fade and strip lashes need constant re-application so this may well be the perfect solution for many clients.
Application time will vary from 30-60 minutes depending on the finished look your client desires, from natural to Glam! It can be applied to lower lashes as well.
Clients are required for this course to allow you maximum practical time.
Course cost is £100
A kit is required for training. The costs vary depending on whether you are semi-permanent lash trained. They range from £79 to £149. Please call the centre to place your order.

A great opportunity to spend a morning improving or refreshing your skills in the application of acrylic nails. Your tutor is extremely experienced and can assist you with any problems or help you improve. Dates can be seen on the timetable under workshops or nail extensions.

This new workshop will teach you how to apply the many lovely designs of nail wraps to your client’s finger or toe nails.
They are flexible, easy to apply and are made of a high performance vinyl product. You can apply a full wrap to the entire surface of the nail or just buy pre-cut tips and apply these to create French tip style effects.
Application takes approximately 45 minutes and the wraps last 1-2 weeks on the fingernails and up to 6 weeks on the toes.
With this method you do not need an infra-red lamp, a travel hairdryer is ideal.
This is a highly popular treatment in the salon and perfect for holidays, special occasions or just because your clients are worth it!
Please note a manicure or pedicure qualification is required to ensure that you can gain insurance. If you are unsure whether your insurance company will cover you without this please call them before enrolling.

Ever Wondered how to create that camera ready look? Or that perfect fashion look?
 Then this one day course is just perfect for you. Learn the application of make- up for both fashion and photographic looks with professional make-up artist, Christine Quar who works with Daniel Sandler among many others.
She will let you into the secrets of creating those striking styles with demonstrations, practical knowledge and hands on experience. Bring your camera to start a great portfolio of photographs demonstrating your skills. You will use the top quality Jane Iredale mineral make-up range and this is all provided for you.

No prerequisite qualifications although basic make-up qualification is an advantage. You need to bring 2 sets of strip lashes, camera, make-up brushes, mascara, any personal make-up. You will be working on others in the group and vice versa so you must be prepared to remove your own make-up.

Semi permanent lashes create length and volume to your client’s natural lash. Individually applied using excellent quality products, the Cottage Training Centre based in Hythe, Southampton will show you how to use the correct eyelash extension shapes and sizes plus work with coloured lashes which add a beautiful emphasis to natural eye colours. A lucrative addition to your beauty therapy menu or a stand-alone therapy, lashes require maintenance every 2-4 weeks so regular clients are gained. Please note that 3 case studies are required before certification. Photographic evidence is acceptable and pictures can be sent to the centre showing application.
A certificate in eyelash tinting must be held before final certification can take place. This can be studied at the same time if not currently held.

A superb one day bridal make-up training day based at the Cottage Training Centre in Hythe, Southampton teaching you the skills to apply bridal make-up. Using the Jane Iredale make-up you will learn how to achieve that special look. Bring along your camera and we will provide the veils and tiaras to enable you to start your own portfolio of photographs. Make-up is available to order on the day.

These two treatments enable you to offer spa therapies without the need for a shower facility. The body masks techniques have been especially designed by Kim Sexton of the Cottage Training Centre based in Hythe, Southampton to provide the cleanest and easiest way to add these treatments to your therapy menu. We will teach you the skills to offer a full body wrap to clients using a gel base solution and thermal bandages. The effects are excellent and clients benefit from improved skin condition as well as losing inches. You will then learn how to do a full body mask therapy beginning with body brushing and exfoliation and then applying an oil based mask. The face can be included and treated separately with beautiful facial scrub and oil. Excellent natural detox and hydrating body scrubs and masks are available to purchase.
A Cottage Training Centre certificate will be issued awarding CPD points and valid for insurance.

This threading training course teaches you the fascinating and traditional method of hair removal ideal for creating the perfect eyebrow shape. Based at the Cottage Training Centre in Hythe, Southampton you will learn how to thread on different areas of the body. You will need a model for practice. A waxing or sugaring certificate is required for full certification.

The Cottage Training Centre based in Hythe, Southampton teaches you this wonderful hour long treatment that relaxes and balances the body through the feet. Your client is able to relax as you work the various points on the feet and lower legs. Stretches assist the joint mobility and release tension deep in the muscles. This treatment can be a wonderful addition to other foot treatments such as pedicures and can easily be adapted to suit your client and salon time. No pre-requisite required although some insurers prefer a massage qualification to be held if you intend to work on clients.

This workshop will teach you the highly requested and popular techniques and terminology used for Hollywood and Brazilian waxing. Both hot and warm wax methods are used with extremely high attention paid to hygiene and safety. You will receive a certificate ensuring insurance can be gained. You must have a certificate in depilation and be confident in your waxing and/or sugaring skills. You will need to bring a model for the afternoon session. We always work discreetly and observe client modesty. Your waxing training is based at the Cottage Training Centre in Hythe, Southampton and we pride ourselves on working hygienically and with high professional standards.

Based at the Cottage Training Centre in Hythe, Southampton you will be taught by Kim Sexton who has many years massage experience working with clients. Hands free and deep tissue techniques are a fantastic way to protect your wrists, thumbs or fingers from RSI or other strain conditions. Look after yourself by using methods that take the stress off these areas. Use body weight to deliver a deeper massage. Effectively treat chronic muscular tension using neuro- muscular techniques. A Swedish massage certificate is required.
